A 19th Century Brass Barrel Telescope. The telescope with a long tapering barrel, and ratchet opening draw, mounted on an adjustable gun barrel stemmed tripod stand. The whole complete with three eye pieces and lens covers, two further draws, all within the baize lined and brass inlaid mahogany case, with brass flush handles and closing slides. Date circa 1820. Height 21 1/2 inches, 55cm. Width 33 1/2 inches, 85cm. Depth 11 inches, 28cm. (of telescope without attachments)Ref: 22025
