A mid 19th C Percussion Pistol. The smooth bore barrel, with sighting button and an articulated ram rod, the top of the barrel proof marked thrice. The mechanism with a thatched thumb cock, the plate marked for ‘Tower 1855’ with crown, and further marked with ‘Crown & VR’. The reverse side of the mechanism with long belt hook. The stock of very hard red walnut finished with a brass trigger guard, stock and butt ends and ram rod pipe. Date C 1855. Height 7 inches, Width 12 inches, Depth 2.25 inches.
