A Late 18th Century, Early 19th Century Carved Lime Wood Lion. The beast looking over his left shoulder, his face with a somewhat quizzical expression, surrounded by his extravagant mane. He lies down, his hind legs drawn beside him, around which his tail curls. One fore holds a cartouche shield. The whole on a carved swagged ribbon. Height 28 inches, width 16 inches, depth 5 inches.
