An Early 19th Century Bilston Enamel Box.
The oval hinged lid, slightly domed, and within a flower and ribbon swagged border the valentine love rhyme 'When this you see, pray think of me, tho many miles we distant be'. The interior of the lid with a mirror, the lid and body rim with reeded brass edges, the body interior in white enamel, the outer body in pink enamel, with a pie crust reeded profile.
