A Late 18th Century Blunderbuss, with a trumpet and ringed muzzle, fronting the barrel, slightly tapering to an octagonal stage, and thence the flintlock mechanism. The mechanism with a slide safety and engraved for the maker 'BLAIR'. The barrel topped by a sprung and hinged baynot. The walnut stock mounted with ringed pipes holding the horn tipped rod, an acorn finial engraved trigger guard, and brass butt plate. All in very good condition and with excellent patination. Date circa 1780. Height 8 1/2 inches, 22cm. Width 30 inches, 76cm. Depth 3 inches, 8cm.
