A George III Flintlock Pistol. The barrel with an articulated ram rod to the underside, finished to the mechanism end with engraving of drums, shields and colours. The top of the barrel engraved 'Newcastle'. The flintlock mechanism engraved 'G Smith', with foliate decoration, and a slide safety, the trigger guard likewise engraved and finished with a fern finial. The walnut stock with a finely hatched grip. Date c 1780. Height 6 1/2 inches, width 13 1/2 inches, depth 2 inches.Ref:
