A Large Pair of 19th Century Capitoline Marble and Mounted Vases. Each with a lift off cover. The domed covers with flower bud finials over the fluted bodies finished with rounded lower edges, between rising leaves meeting the convex rims. The covers fitting within rope twist and leaf decorated collars, surrounding concave vented bands. The bodies of classical shape, mounted with masks of Pan, from which sweep garlands of flowers. The vases within rising leaf cups over fluted stems, falling to meet a laurel leaf rim. The vases raised up on square marble plinths. Date circa 1850. Height 19 inches, 48cm.
