LARGE PAPIER MACHE TRAY

A Large 19th Century Papier Mache Tray. The flat edged rim with a sloping inner edge, surrounding the rectangular centre, with rounded corners. The tray decorated with gilt banding to the outer edge of the rim, and the body decorated with flowers and leaves, amongst which butterflies hover. Date c 1830. Height 1 1/2 inches, width 27 1/2 inches, depth 21 1/2 inches.
