A very large 19th century oyster tray.
The oval body with slightly tapering sides with two substantial bands of brass coopering. The ends with good hinged loop handles, and the interior with a lift out tray. The body with brass plaques for '9TH LANCERS' and 'OFFICERS MESS' to the other side. Used for serving oysters at regimental dinners.
