An 18th Century Silver Tankard. The solid silver tankard with a domed cover, spreading to a ogee and ringed rim. The cover hinging open with an attractive open scroll thumb grip, revealing a gilted silver interior. The baluster shaped body with a reeded banding, the body tapering into a waisted socle, spreading outward to the ogee and reeded ring foot. The tankard with a scrolling handle, finished with a heart shaped terminal. The tankard hallmarked to the cover and body for JOHN KING, LONDON 1777. Height 8 1/4 inches, 21cm.
