A Pair of 19th Century Silver Plated Wine Coolers. Each wine cooler with a gadrooned rim, enclosing a lift out collar, enclosing a cylindrical bottle housing; This allows the body to be filled with ice, without the ice/melt water touching the bottle. The bodies of vase shape, the raised necks with ring stepping to the reeded spreading centres. The bodies tapering to a waisted and reeded socle, and thence the circular foot. The wine coolers mounted with pairs of handles in the form of gathered vine stalks, meeting the bodies with bunches of grapes and vine leaves. Date c 1850. Height 10 inches, 26cm.
