EARLY 19TH C MAHOGANY CANDLE BOX

An Early 19th Century Mahogany Candle Box. the candle box of unusual form. The raised bow shaped top, over a sloping hinged lid, opening to a candle box. The lower body with a pierce bow shaped frieze, to allow a hand to reach in for more candles. Very good colour and patination. Date circa 1800. Height 16 inches, 41cm. Width 19 inches, 48cm. Depth 4 1/2 inches, 11.5cm.
