A Large Early 19th Century Burr Mulberry Wood Casket, the octagonal lid, with a concave rise to a slightly domed centre panel, the rim of the lid finished with brass stringing and opening to an open interior.  The body with octagonal shaping, sweeping down in a tapering curve to a small ebonized foot rim.  The sides with brass swan neck carrying handles, and the front mounted with a long leaf and flower escutcheon plate.  Complete with lock and key.

Wonderful colour and unusual and impressive shape.
