A 19th Century bronze of Narcissus, the youth caught admiring his own reflection. He stands with his head slightly tipped to one side in contemplation, his right arm raised with a goat-skin slung over his left shoulder, his legs slightly apart and wearing sandals. The circular base with two bands of leaf-cast decoration. The base impressed for the Sommer Foundry, Naples.
After the original figure discovered in Pompei and now in the Museo Nazionale, Naples. The original is the same size and also in bronze.
H 25 inches; w 11 inches; d 10 inches.
