A Pair of Early 19th Century Gilt Bronze Cassoulettes. Each a classical campana shaped vase, the covers with a berry finial, surrounded by downward sweeping overlapping leaves, before a concave, outward spreading fluted body. The vases with fluting, filled with rising flower buds, above ringed and reeded socles. The vase standing on re-entrant cornered square bases, the plinth edges decorated with panels of entwined ribbons and berries. The covers lifting off and fitting within the vases to form candles sticks. Date c 1820. Height 5 3/4 inches, width 2 1/2 inches, depth 2 1/2 inches.
