A 19th Century Griffin Door Porter, Door Stop.

The cast iron door porter formed as a griffin, the winged beast lying down, with one leg folded under his body, and one leg outstretched.  His tail sweeping u to the scrolled leaf decorated open handle. The whole on an ogee and stepped rectangular plinth.

Date c 1840.

Height 10 3/4 inches, width 8 1/2 inches, depth 2 1/4 inches.
