An Early 19th Century Bronze Tortoise. The tortoise with a knobbly shell, as he slowly walks along with a determined expression on his face. His head tilting forward to release his hinging shell, opening to reveal an inkwell. The whole on a rectangular bronze plinth. Date circa 1850. Height 3 1/4 inches, 8.5cm. Width 5 1/2 inches, 14cm. Depth 3 1/2 inches, 9cm.
