A 19th Century Bronze Figure of a Dancing Faun. The figure depicted in joyous dance, as he plays pairs of cymbals held in each hand, whilst his right foot presses on a scabellum. The faun stands by a tree trunk, and on a vine leaf strewn oval base. The original marble figure, also known as the Medici Faun, now in the Uffizi Museum, Florence. Date c 1850. Height 21 1/2 inches, 55cm. Width 11 1/2 inches, 30cm. Depth 8 1/2 inches, 22cm.
