A Pair of Early 19th Century Tole Chestnut Vases and Covers. Each with a navette shaped cover, sweeping up to an acorn topped spire. The vases of conforming shape, tapering to a waisted stem, and thence the oval and stepped spreading foot. The vases with pairs of lion mask ring handles, and the whole with the original flower and leaf decoration in silver, gilt and ochre. Date circa 1800. Height 12 1/2 inches, 31cm. Width 6 1/2 inches, 16cm. Depth 4 1/2 inches, 11cm.
