A Pair of Early 19th Century Ormolu Candlesticks. Each with a lift out drip pan, the rim cast with outward turning leaves, fitting within the rounded vase shaped candle holders, decorated with a convex and beaded rim, over the rising and reeded vase bodies. The vase candle holders raised on fluted stems, topped by rising leaves and stop fluted to the bottoms with rising leaves, within the chased flutes. The circular bases sweeping outward and downward in likewise flutes, over which fall hanging leaves, as per the stems. The beaded banding and concave profile moulding meeting the horizontal reeded foot rim, the reeds gathered within turning leaves. Date circa 1800. Height 10 1/2 inches, 27cm. Diameter 5 1/4 inches, 13.5cm.
