A Pair of Early 19th Century Bronze and Pear Wood Cassoulettes. Each vase with a lift off cover, topped by a fir cone finial and draping leaves, above a concave body, sweeping to a stepped rim. The covers turning over to reveal leaf cupped candle holders. The vases with leaf cast rims, joining a pair of handles with lion masks, from which hang laurel leaf garlands. the pear wood bodies held within leaf cups, above socles, and a circular leaf decorated foot. The whole raised up o square plinth bases, standing on small circular and tapered feet. Height 9 inches, 23cm. Width 3 1/2 inches, 9cm. Depth 3 inches, 8cm. Date circa 1830.
