A 19th Century Bronze Lantern, Centre Light. The lantern with a loop hanging finial above the domed candle smoke diffuser, with a folded edge. The rising scrolled supports holding the flower bud finial, from which hangs the long brass shank, running to a boss, from which sweep three branches, to hold dished drip pans and campana candle holders. The body of the lantern with scrolled and serpentine panels, decorated with spreading leaves and laurel berries. Each corner with scrolling decorations to the tops and bottoms. One panel a hinged door, opening to allow access to the candle holders. The bronze panels holding the bowed and serpentine glazing. Date circa 1830. Height 34 inches, 87cm. Width 15 1/2 inches, 40cm. Depth 15 1/2 inches, 40cm.
