A Substantial Pair of Lamps. The brass lamp fittings and collar fitting within the outward flared rims of the vases, before concave necks, the decoration of the necks being poppies and wild flowers growing in an oriental garden, the decoration between bands of spreading flowers and foliage. The rounded baluster shaped bodies likewise decorated with the reserves filled with poppies and wild flowers, around which exotic birds hover, the reserves set within grounds of flowers and foliage. The vases spreading to a rim decorated with a band of flowers and foliage, as per the body ground. The vases set on circular gilt wood bases. Date circa 1900. Vase height 24 1/2 inches, 62cm.
