A George III Mahogany Stick Barometer. With architectural pediment, centred by a classical vase finial, over a glazed door, opening to the silvered dial, showing barometric pressure and weather indication with a sliding cursor. The body with a stepped and rounded mould edge, continued to the bottom, holding the orb cistern cover, with an adjusting knob below.. The dial engraved for the maker 'SILBERRAD OF 34, ALDGATE, LONDON'. Date circa 1770. Height 38 inches, 97cm. Width 5 1/4 inches, 13.5cm. Depth 3 1/4 inches, 8.5cm.Ref: 24157
