An 18th Century Delft Apothecary Jar.

The outcarved rim, spreading outward to the cylindrical body, with a raised foot band, waisted socle and spreading circular foot.  The body with a large reserve, painted with peacocks flanking a basket of fruit.  The reserve titled ‘E MITRIDAY’.  The lower edge of the reserve with a winged cherub mask, centring fruit swags.


Height 7 inches, diameter 4 ½ inches.
