An 18th Century Delft Jar. The jar with a rounded and outward turned rim, above the large rounded body, tapering toward the foot, with a slightly concave underside. The jar decorated with scrolling and hanging drapery, revealing a scene of stacked and piled tobacco barrels, from which burst tobacco leaves. The centre titled 'POMPADOIR'. Complete with the brass domed cover, topped by a vase finial. Height 11 1/2 inches, 29cm. (not including cover) Diameter 9 1/2 inches, 24cm. Date circa 1720.
