A Mid 18th Century Delft Tobacco Jar, the ovoid body with a rolled rim, decorated with a dock-side scene of a European Trader and an Indian in a head-dress, the two figures flanked by barrel containing and overflowing with tobacco leaves, in the background a three masted ship. The scene within a rounded leaf border, and titled in an oval panel below "SPANSE"

The underside with makers mark. Complete with brass cover.
