An 18th Century Delft Vase and Cover. With a seated dog finial above the domed octagonal cover, spreading to a broadening rim. The cover fitting within a raised collar, above the ovoid octagonal body, sweeping into a chamfered foot. The vase decorated in polychrome, with panels of scrolling flowers to the cover, repeated to the shoulders of the vase, above panels of figures in gardens and beside lakes. These panels alternating with panels of exotic birds swooping an perching amongst trees in an oriental garden. Date circa 1780. Height 14 inches, 36cm. Width 7 1/4 inches, 18cm.
