A 19th Century Blue and White Meat Plate.

The dished rim, of rounded octagonal shape, with slightly re-entrant corners, decorated with wild flowers against a lattice and scrolled background.  The centre decorated with a scene of a river, cascading over a weir, under a bridge, and to a pool, where three ladies wash sheets, on-lookers walk along a path, amongst trees, with the cathedral of Glasgow on the hill overlooking the scene.  The comb back rear with crown topped and floral reserve, titled 'Antique Scenery' and Cathedral of Glasgow'.

Date c 1850.

Height 19 1/4 inches, diameter 15 inches.
