19TH C IMARI ICE PAIL

A 19th Century Imari Pattern Ice Pail. With a circular cover, topped by a button handle and edged with a concave moulding. The cover fitting within the chamfered rim of the pail body. The rim sweeping into a concave neck and thence the melon shaped pail. The reeding tapering into a flat foot. The body mounted with a pair of swept handles. The whole well decorated in the Imari fotm with flowers and foliage emerging from a garden wall, with gilt highlighting. Date circa 1850. Height 5 inches, 12.5cm. Width 6 3/4 inches, 17cm. Depth 6 1/2 inches, 16.5cm.
