A 19th Century Jug. The jug with a mounted and reeded rim, over the reeded neck and spout, decorated in brown glaze, continued to the shoulder of the leaf and reeded handle. The rounded body with relief decoration of vine leaves and grapes, over scenes of cherubs at play, as they greet a cherub holding a shield with a motif of the arts in one hand, and an over flowing cornucopia in his other hand. The scene set amongst trees and flowers. The body finished with gathered reeds, tapering to a recessed foot rim. Date circa 1830. Height 8 inches, 20cm. Width 7 inches, 18cm.
