A 19th Century Blue and White Pearlware Meat Plate, the slightly dished rim with decoration of wild roses, surrounding a central scene of a shepherd sitting on a wooded bank, playing a flute, accompanied by a young shepherd boy and shepherdess.  Around them graze four sheep with a lady and a palladian house beyond.  The rear with impressed marks for Phillips of Longport (1834 - 1848)

Width 17"  Depth 13"

Date c 1840

A good example that could also be used for the purpose.
