An Early 19th Century Chestnut Basket. The octagonal basket of an outward swept shape. The solid rim decorated with fruits and flowers, above an open hatched basket body. The centre decorated with garden flowers. The outer rim with an oak leaf and acorn banding, the basket with a pair of rounded handles. The correct stand likewise of octagonal shape, with an oak leaf and acorn outer banding, surrounding an open hatched inner rim, before the centre decorated with garden flowers. The undersides impressed for ROGERS. Height 3 1/2 inches, 9cm. Width 10 inches, 25cm. Depth 7 1/2 inches, 19cm. Date circa 1830.
