A Large 18th Century Imari Vase and Cover. The cover with a fierce dog, astride a tree trunk, above the bell shaped body and broad rim. The vase with a raised collar, above the baluster body, tapering inward and downward to the foot rim. The cover and shoulders of the vase and cover decorated with bands of flowers within blue and rust coloured bands. The rim of the cover and the body, decorated with trees, flowers and foliage. Date c 1770. Height 19 inches, 49cm. Width 10 12 inches, 27cm. Depth 10 1/2 inches, 27cm.Ref: 21862
