A Pair of 18th Century Delft Flower Bricks. Each flower brick with a recessed grid top of two panels of six stalk holes, surrounding a large rectangular opening. The rectangular bodies painted to the long sides with hanging scrolled leaves, surrounded by rising wild flowers. The shorter sides decorated with birds perched in tall flowers and grasses to one brick, and to the other brick, wild flowers in bloom. The undersides with slightly recessed bottoms. Date c 1740. Height 3 1/2 inches, width 6 inches, depth 2 1/2 inches.
