A Pair of 18th Century Tin Glazed Dogs. The dog and the bitch both sat on their haunches and raised front legs, as they look slightly over their right shoulders, with a whimsical and rather anthropomorphic expression. The dogs mounted on rectangular hollow bases, finished with stepped manganese, yellow and blue line decoration. Date circa 1780. Height 7 3/4 inches, 20cm. Width 6 1/2 inches, 17cm.
