A Pair of 19th Century Imari Vases and Covers. Each with an octagonal bell shaped cover, with a Phoo Dog finial and chamfered overhanging rim. The covers fitting within the raised octagonal collars of the vases. The rounded shoulders sweeping into tapering panels, falling to a small raised foot rim. The whole in vibrant Imari colours, of flower and leaf filled reserves, amongst scenes of further large flower heads and foliage, amongst which birds swoop. Date circa 1860. Height 17 inches, 44cm. Diameter 9 inches, 23cm.
