A Large Pair of Late 18th / Early 19th Century Delft Polychrome Vases. Of octagonal trumpet shape, the rims sweeping in a pattern of eight tapering and then broadening panels, falling to meet the flat foot rim, and slightly recessed base. The rim and foot of each vase decorated with flower heads pointing toward the centres and laid over hatched banding. The bodies with flower filled vases, set on floral pedestals, flowing in a continuous form to oval reserves, filled with flowers and ferns. Height 15 1/2 inches, 40cm. Width 9 1/2 inches, 24cm. Depth 9 1/2 inches, 24cm. Date circa 1800.Ref:
