A Set of Eight Early 19th Century Tea Bowls and Saucers. Each bowl with a red line banded rim, over the rounded bowls, decorated in red scenes of a fisherman in a boat, using a lift net. He fishes on a lake with a church, grand house and windmill set amongst trees in the background. The bowls finished with a small red banded foot rim, and standing on the conforming saucers, likewise decorated with banding and the fishing scene. The scenes set amongst a yellow ground. Impressed for 'Sewell' The St Anthony's Pottery, Newcastle. Date circa 1820. Height 2 1/4 inches. 6cm. Diameter 4 3/4 inches, 12cm.Ref: 24112
