Fireplace >> PAIR OF 19TH C FIRE BELLOWS

A pair of 19th century bellows with elm boards, each board with a tapered handle, above the pear shaped bodies, edged with brass studded leather, the boards tapering to a leather and studded nose, and thence the brass nozzle, of ringed and orb tapering profile. The front board carved in relief, with an amusing scene of a mounted huntsman being chased across a field by an enraged bull. The background are painted a windmill, and rolling wooded hills. All in good working order. Date circa 1850. Height 24 inches, 61cm. Width 10 inches, 26cm. Depth 4 inches, 10cm.
