A 19th Century Goncalo Alves Card Table. The table with a rounded corner top, with cross banded facings. The top opening and swivelling to form the baized playing surface, with a crossbanded edge. The tapering column gathered by a rising and folding leaf collar, above a platform base with re entrant sides. The whole raised up on scrolling leaf feet, holding recessed castors. In very dramatic Goncalo Alves veneers, with good quality carved decoration. Height 30 inches, 76cm. Width 36 inches, 91cm. Depth 17 3/4 inches, 45cm. Date circa 1830.Ref:
