A 19th Century Walnut and Alderwood Hall Bench, Window Seat. The bench with raised arched ends, above the rectangular seat, finished with a stepped slightly overhanging mould edge, above the vertical frieze, finished with a lower ogee moulding. The four legs topped by arched brackets tapering to a spreading foot, with rounded square toes. The brackets and legs defined by fine channel mouldings. The bench by Druce, and with the gilt brass label, 'DRUCE & CO, UPHOLSTERERS AND CABINET MAKERS, BAKER STREET, PORTMAN SQUARE, LONDON W'. Date circa 1870. Height 19 1/2 inches, 50cm (seat). Width 36 inches, 92cm. Depth 13 inches, 33cm. Date circa 1870.
