Early 19th Century Rosewood Side Table. The top with drop leaves, hinging on rule joints, and supported with bracket gates. The top faced with rosewood cross banding and inlaid with a broad band of burr yew wood. The frieze with panels of burr yew wood, flanking a pair of drawers, burr wood edging, pairs of ebonized ring turned knobs, and oak drawer linings. This repeated to the blind other side. The table on well turned tapering legs, with ring decoration, finishing in brass cup castors. The whole in wellchosen rosewood and tightly burred yew, with an excellent patination. Date circa 1830. Height 30 1/2 inches, 77cm. Width leaves down 14 3/4 inches, 38cm. Depth 18 inches, 46cm.
