A very generous and comfortable William IV rosewood library chair. The armchair with a curved top rail, flanked by folding leaves sweeping into the channel mould arms, with raised elbow pads. The arms running to scrolled hand holds, held by likewise scrolled supports. The upholstered seat and back rest within a frieze, above overlapping leaf and turned legs, finished with brass castors. Date circa 1830. Height 41 1/2 inches, 105cm. Width 28 1/2 inches, 73cm. Depth 32 inches, 82cm.
