A George III Mahogany Wine Cooler. The wine cooler with rounded rim, to the oval body. The body tapering slightly inward and downward, within broad brass bands. The body mounted to either end with substantial brass carrying handles, the interior lead lined. The whole resting on a stand of conforming shape, with a rounded rim, joining the four legs, each with shaped brackets, the legs splayed slightly outward. The whole of good hard mahogany, and in very good original condition. Date circa 1780. Height 20 1/2 inches, 52cm. Width 23 inches, 59cm. Depth 15 1/4 inches, 38cm.Ref: 22002
