A George III Walnut and Gilt Wood Mirror. The 18th century mirror with a central pediment cartouche, with scrolled edges decorated with rising and overhanging leaves. The swan neck flanking pediments carved with leaves covering a hatched and stipple ground, the lower mouldings with egg and dart decoration. The swan necks terminating with petal heads and emerging foliage. The whole above a further egg and dart moulding. The frame with turret corners and a rounded and scrolling bottom, identified with a raised leaf, hatched and stipple moulding. The body in well figured walnut. The sides of the frame decorated with leaves, flowers and plums, handing from scrolled brackets. The frame holding the rectangular bevelled plate. Date c 1750. Height 53 inches, 135cm. Width 25 inches, 64cm. Depth 3 1/2 inches, 9cm.
