An early 19th century watercolour. The watercolour showing a bucolic scene of a shepherd in a smock, loose hat, and stocking legs, holding his crook, as he and his do take shade and rest under a large tree, as his flock of sheep graze in the distance. The picture within the original rosewood frame, with gilt slips holding the glazing. Date circa 1820. Height 7 1/2 inches, 19cm. Width 9 inches, 23cm. Depth 1 inch, 2.5cm.
