A Regency Gilt Convex Mirror. The pediment with an eagle alighting on a rocky outcrop, amongst scrolling leave following the shape of the frame. The frame with a rounded and stepped outer edge, sweeping inward to broad band decorated with oakleaves and acorns. The inner edge of the frame with a stepped and concave mould, surrounding the reeded ebonized slip, housing the original convex plate. The lower frame decorated with a conch shell set amongst scrolling and hanging leaves, from which emerge a pair of scrolling candle sconces. Height 40 inches, width 25 inches, depth 7 inches.
