An 18th Century Flinlock Pistol. The pistol with an octagonal barrel, mounted with a brass sighting. The barrel engraved to the mechanism end, and likewise the mechanism engraved with scrolling foliage. The trigger guard finished with a baroque vase, running into the pipes holding the ram rod. The walnut stock finished with a chequered grip, the grip flaring outward and finished with a raised flower and leaf engraved pommel. Height 7 inches, 18cm. Width 12 1/2 inches, 32cm. Depth 1 1/2 inches, 4cm. Date c 1780.Ref: 21656
