A 19th Century Brass and Mahogany Telescope. The slide off lens cover surrounding the gilt brass body, the rear half of the body with mahogany casing, enclosing the three drawers. The first draw engraved for 'R SMITH, YORK & SCARBORO''. The eye piece with slide cover. Date c 1860. Height open 24 inches, closed 8 1/2 inches. Depth 1 3/4 inches.
